The Gelix-1 combines the technology of GPS black box, sensor-output operation and automation.

How it works?

Essentially, the Gelix-1 black box is incorporated within secured place and has five basic linked components, they are: GPS terminal (antenna + receiver), terminal data link (TE), sensors, relay control devices, and power supply system.

The Gelix black box archives received navigation and I/O data upon pre-defined period or/and custom-selected event. Built-in Gelix automation engine may control outputs upon custom-specified scenarios. These three features (GPS black box, I/O control and automation) offers the system designers more oportunities in the design of custom solutions for:

• Transport logistic and mobile navigation: Custom computer station (PC, Notebook, or PDA) can communicate with the Gelix Black Box over terminal data link (wire or wireless) in order to receive live data (monitor) and manage Black Box system (control). At the same time, linked computer station (terminal) can access Black Box LOG and retrieve required navigation data or event. The Gelix Black Box provides independent custom adjustments for the data logging rate in the LOG and simultaneous forwarding navigation data and events to TE.
   
  
   
• Stationary data logging and automation: The Gelix system provides event data recording and may control external devices according to custom-defined scenario. Linked computer station can retrieve logged data (DB) over terminal data interface.
   
• Stationary security system: The Gelix system can be adapted to operate within the access control, message and alarm systems.

The Gelix navigation black box follows First-In-Last-Out principles for the data recording and allows retrieve data upon custom criteria given over the terminal command:

• Get the last record;
• Get the last N records. Oldest record will be retrieved first;
• Get record corresponding to the last power on;
• Get record corresponding to the last system reset made by Watchdog;
• Get custom-required number of records corresponding to date and time.

The Gelix GPS "Black Box" system is adapted to operate with GPS receivers or GPS terminals over RS232 that provide navigation data according to NMEA-0183 specification (for example FALCOM NAVI-S).

The Gelix black box has auxiliary serial interface (Serial B) that is purposed for the interconnection with ÒÅ over RS232 V.12 or over conventional Serial IrDA (for instance, TEKRAM IR-210).
